The Truth and Reconciliation group from Slackwood Presbyterian Church, members of the Lawrence Township congregation, and the community gathered in front of the church from 4:30-6 p.m. Dec. 10 to observe Human Rights Day.International Human Rights Day is a day dedicated to raising awareness about issues of inequality, exclusion, and discrimination in our world and to come together to promote the welfare of everyone. The 2021 Theme is Equality: Reducing inequalities, advancing human rights.
For more information about the International Day of Human Rights, visit the UN’s website at www.un.org/en/observances/human-rights-day The community gathered with signs along Route 1 to raise awareness with the people passing the church during the evening rush hour.
