Slackwood church members observe International Human Rights Day

The Truth and Reconciliation group from Slackwood Presbyterian Church, members of the Lawrence Township congregation, and the community gathered in front of the church from 4:30-6 p.m. Dec. 10 to observe Human Rights Day.International Human Rights Day is a day dedicated to raising awareness about issues of inequality, exclusion, and discrimination in our world and to come together to promote the welfare of everyone. The 2021 Theme is Equality: Reducing inequalities, advancing human rights.

The community gathered with signs along Route 1 to raise awareness with the people passing the church during the evening rush hour. Their time together ended with a brief candlelight prayer service.
