Princeton University will be requiring booster shots come January for all eligible students, staff and faculty.
The university made the announcement for the spring semester on Dec. 15 and is requiring booster shots by Jan. 31 for those eligible.
Students, staff and faculty who are not eligible by the Jan. 31 deadline will have 30 days from the date they can receive a booster to upload the data into the university’s VacStatus or in MyUHS.
Princeton has also moved all undergraduate final exams to be remote.
The decision to have the final exams remotely will give students the ability to leave campus earlier, according to the university.
This increase COVID-19 cases prompted the university to cancel all indoor gatherings where face masks cannot be worn or are gatherings with food.
Before Jan. 7, the university plans to revisit its recent gathering guidance.
There has been an increase in COVID-19 cases among undergraduates on campus, which is the reason for the remote final exams and changes. They went into effect on Dec. 16.
According to the university’s COVID-19 Dashboard, the campus risk status is moderate to high. As of Dec. 16, the most recent data from Dec. 4-10 published by the university states 34 positive COVID-19 cases in 18,934 tests.
The university is still providing vaccination clinics and at this time is set to resume vaccination clinics with Pfizer clinic planned for Jan. 5 at Jadwin Gym. The Pfizer clinic on Jan. 5 will be for adults, booster shots, and second doses from children ages 5-11 from the Dec. 15 first dose clinic.
