Hillsborough firefighters honored for their heroism

The Hillsborough Township fire companies are composed of volunteer-based responders who serve as examples of the highest standards through their heroism and willingness to help others.

The Top 10 responders of Fire Co. No. 1, Flagtown are Bill Riordan, Greg Kane, Josiah Harmon, Ron Vladyka, Logan Teeple, Mike Guzy, Matt DeCicco, Tyler Riordan, Joe Shreve and Nick Perfette.

The Top 10 responders of Fire Co. No. 2, Route 206 are Robert Gildea, Jim Paterno, Thomas Shaffer, Bill Shaffer (posthumous), Ameer Abugosh, Kevin Danberry, Ryan Crater, Conner Budd, Rich Crater and Isabella Calabrese.

The Top 10 responders of Fire Co. No. 3, Woods Road are Kenneth Wetzel, Ken Johnson, Brendon Harding, Rick Artz, Tom Marvits, Timothy Coyle, Vince Lai, Shawn Hauss, Charles Nuara and Robert Hodossy.

The Hillsborough Township Committee, along with the Board of Fire Commissioners, recognized the volunteers with a proclamation during the Township Committee meeting on Jan. 25.
