Detached garage on Reed Road damaged by early morning fire

A detached garage on Reed Road was damaged by an early morning fire Feb. 6, according to the Hopewell Township Police Department.

The residents noticed the fire and called 911 to report it at 1:57 a.m., police said. The Pennington Fire Department responded and put out the fire, which caused fire, smoke and water damage to the garage.

The Hopewell Fire Department, the Union Fire Company, the Ewing Township Fire Department and the Lawrenceville Fire Company also responded to the fire, along with Hopewell Valley Emergency Services.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by Police Officer Neil Hunt and Detective Alexis Mirra of the Hopewell Township Police Department and Hopewell Valley Emergency Services.
