Fifth grader wins Linwood spelling bee with word ‘canola’

Linwood School fifth grader Ameen Shaik Mohammed is the first place winner of the Linwood School Spelling Bee. After 16 rounds, three hours, and a five-round spell off between the two finalists, Ameen won the sought-after title. Forty-three participants showcased their excellence for everyone at the Spelling Bee in North Brunswick on Feb. 10. Ameen is pictured with Linwood School Principal JD Shorter.
