A 40-year-old Jersey City man was charged with shoplifting for taking merchandise worth $1,187.91 from Walmart on Route 130 North on Feb. 10. The police officer found the man in the parking lot and detained him. The investigation determined that he had left the store without paying for the items. He was arrested and later released, pending court action.

A 33-year-old Hightstown resident was charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving, careless driving and failure to maintain lane after a police officer stopped the car on Davison Road near Route 33. The driver showed signs of impairment and failed field sobriety tests. The driver was arrested and released, pending court action.

A 60-year-old Jersey City resident was charged with shoplifting for taking items valued at $212.60 from ShopRite on Route 130 North without paying for them on Jan. 22. Store loss prevention personnel detained the individual until police arrived. The individual was arrested and released, pending court action.

A 27-year-old East Windsor woman who allegedly stole a doorbell camera and damaged a bracket on the door to a Brookwood Gardens apartment was charged with theft, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct Jan. 23. A police officer found the woman a short time later inside Target. She allegedly became argumentative and shouted profanities in front of customers in the store and in the parking lot. She was arrested and released, pending court action.
