SAYREVILLE – A new comptroller and assistant business administrator has been appointed in the Sayreville School District.

On Feb. 15, the Board of Education approved the transfer of Carolyn Magielnicki to the district’s comptroller and assistant to the business administrator. The transfer will become effective on April 4.

Prior to the transfer, Magnielnicki served as the confidential secretary to the business administrator. She succeeds Amnah Abuawad as comptroller and assistant to the business administrator.

According to district administrators, Magielnicki will receive a prorated salary of $70,000 in her new position.

“It makes me incredibly proud to recommend [Magielnicki]’s appointment as the new assistant to the business administrator and comptroller,” Superintendent of Schools Richard Labbe said. “She’s been with this district for many years, she has a professional background that I think will assist her greatly in this role and she has the work ethic and dedication to not only the school district, but this community.

“I think [this community] will provide her with the motivation to be the absolute best that she can be and that is what I expect,” he continued. “She is someone who we’re very proud of and very impressed with. Now we’re blessed to have her in this new role.”

In other business, board members approved the transfer of Donna Cerbone to the new position of full-time support secretary of transportation. Cerbone previously served as the part-time support secretary of transportation.

The transfer will become effective on March 8. Cerbone will receive a prorated salary of $37,297, according to district administrators.
