West Windsor police blotter

A Trenton man was charged with shoplifting after he was observed concealing a set of ear pods in his pocket at Lowe’s on U.S. Route 1 Feb. 8. He paid for other items but not for the ear pods, which he removed from the package, according to reports. He was taken to the West Windsor Police Department headquarters to be processed and then released.

A Philadelphia man was charged with shoplifting after he reportedly filled a duffel bag full of merchandise at the TJ Maxx store at 210 Nassau Park Blvd. Feb. 10. He left the store with the duffel bag and put it in his car. He was observed entering the Burlington store nearby on Nassau Park Boulevard, where police found him hiding in an employees-only back room, police said. During the investigation, he was found to have an outstanding warrant from Roxbury Township. He was taken to the West Windsor Police Department headquarters to be processed, and then released after posting bail for the Roxbury Township warrant.

A house in the Old Mill Farms development was burglarized between Feb. 7 and 11, but nothing was reported missing. The burglar pried open the back door, which was locked, and ransacked the house, police said.

A motor vehicle stop on a car that had tinted windows and that was missing a front license plate Feb. 11 led to the arrest of a passenger who was found to be a “wanted person” from Doylestown, Pennsylvania. The man, who lives in Trenton, was taken to West Windsor Police Department headquarters to be processed and then transported to the Mercer County Correctional Center to await extradition to Pennsylvania.

A New York City man was charged with shoplifting after he gathered an assortment of items and pretended to pay for them at a closed checkout lane at Wegmans at 240 Nassau Park Blvd. Feb. 23. He attempted to return one of the items and when his request was declined, he picked up all of the items and left the store without paying for them, according to the allegations. He was taken to the West Windsor Police Department headquarters to be processed and then released.

A Ewing Township man was arrested on an outstanding warrant from West Windsor Township during a motor vehicle stop for failing to obey a traffic signal at the intersection of Clarksville Road and Quakerbridge Road Feb. 25. He was taken to the West Windsor Police Department headquarters to be processed and then released.

A Monmouth Junction man was charged with shoplifting for reportedly taking four bottles of liquor, valued at a combined $201.96, at Wegmans at 240 Nassau Park Blvd. Feb. 25. He paid for some other items, but not the liquor. He was taken to the West Windsor Police Department headquarters to be processed and then released.

Two shoplifters stole 11 pairs of designer sunglasses, valued at a combined $4,500, from the Sunglass Hut at the Market Fair mall on Route 1 Feb. 28. The man and the woman selected the sunglasses and left the store before police officers arrived.
