The driver of a 2015 Lexus was issued summonses for careless driving and using a handheld device while driving after her vehicle struck the rear of a 2020 Honda that was being driven by an 18-year-old Belle Mead resident on Route 206 at Route 518 on May 3. The 27-year-old Princeton resident was looking down at her cell phone prior to the crash.
Volunteer firefighters from Montgomery Township and Rocky Hill Borough were called to put out a fire in a 2016 Kia Rio in the parking lot at the Princeton North Shopping Center on Route 206 on May 4. There were no injuries, and the fire did not spread to other cars or buildings.
A 19-year-old Jamesburg man who fell asleep behind the wheel of his 2010 Ford F250 pickup truck was issued a summons for careless driving May 2. The pickup truck left the right side of the road on Route 518 and struck two mailboxes and a sprinkler head, and also knocked down a utility pole. He was not injured.
A 77-year-old Belle Mead woman was issued summonses for failure to yield and careless driving following a two-car crash at the intersection of Route 206 and Sycamore Lane on April 29. The force of the impact flipped one car onto its side, and its 29-year-old driver was trapped inside. Volunteer firefighters from Montgomery Township Volunteer Fire Cos. No. 1 and No. 2 and the Rocky Hill Fire Department freed the driver from the car. She was taken to the hospital by Montgomery EMS for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
A 43-year-old Morrisville, Pennsylvania, woman was charged with four counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to maintain lane and possession of narcotics in a motor vehicle April 23. Police stopped her car on Route 206 in response to reports of a possibly impaired driver. She was determined not to be impaired, but a consent search of her vehicle turned up illegal narcotics.
