Sai Pariwar, Inc. and Sai Mandir organized a fundraising event on May 8 at Balaji Temple Auditorium in Bridgewater, where dozens of singers and musicians performed for more than four hours with solo, duets and choruses.

Middlesex County Commissioner Shanti Narra, a North Brunswick resident who formerly served on the North Brunswick Township Council; former Assemblyman and current New Jersey State Utility Commissioner Upendra Chivulkula; Chairman of MANA TV Sridhar Chillara; Chairman of Indus TV Vijay Garg; and other prominent individuals from the Indian American community attended the event to extend their support, according to information provided by Sai Mandir.

Madhavi Bathula served the host.

Sai Mandir, North Brunswick (Sai Pariwar) has acquired land on Route 130 next to ShopRite to build Baba Temple and Cultural Center that will be the spiritual abode of Sri Shirdi Saibaba and other Hindu deities.

Currently, the temple management is working with the township and architects to get construction permits approved which will be completed in the near future, according to the statement.

The current temple in North Brunswick is in a warehouse area on Route 1 and the property is very old with logistical challenges of parking and limited access to special needs and handicapped devotees, according to the statement.

The goal of Sai Pariwar is to raise $3 million to complete the construction of the temple in the upcoming years.
