A South Brunswick woman was charged with shoplifting and hindering apprehension for allegedly putting a Ninja air fryer, valued at $169.99, in her shopping cart and leaving the store without paying for it March 7. She reportedly provided a false name and date of birth to police. She was taken to the West Windsor Police Department headquarters to be processed and released.
A Trenton man was charged with shoplifting for taking $182.74 worth of items from Wegmans March 14. He allegedly put the items in reusable shopping bags and left the store without paying for them. He was also found to be wanted on outstanding warrants from West Windsor, Lawrence and Hamilton townships. He was taken to the West Windsor Police Department headquarters to be processed and then turned over to the Lawrence Township Police Department.
A Westampton resident was charged with driving under the influence, obstructing the administration of justice and hindering apprehension after crashing his pickup truck into a tree and then reportedly walking away from it on Village Road West March 26. The pickup truck had been driven onto the median before striking the tree and becoming disabled. Police found the driver, who had walked away from the pickup truck. The driver provided accounts of events that led up to the crash, but which were allegedly found to be false.
A Trenton resident who works at Target was charged with theft for paying for some items and not others March 29. The employee allegedly scanned and paid for two drinks, but not for five other items worth a combined $109.95, according to police. An internal store investigation revealed he had stolen from the store an additional 20 times since Feb. 23. He was taken to the West Windsor Police Department headquarters to be processed and released.
A Princeton woman was charged with shoplifting for under-ringing $142.90 worth of merchandise at Target March 31, according to reports. The woman allegedly took a bar code tag off an item for $1 and used it to scan all of her items at the self-checkout register. She was taken to the West Windsor Police Department headquarters to be processed and released.
A Long Branch resident who put a backpack blower worth $229 in a shopping cart and reportedly left the Home Depot store without paying for it was charged with shoplifting in the April 6 incident. The resident was taken to the West Windsor Police Department headquarters to be processed and released.
