A trio of 23-year-old men, two from Newark and one from East Orange, were charged with burglary and theft of a motor vehicle in separate incidents that occurred May 12. They allegedly broke into a house on Honey Brook Lane and allegedly stole a motor vehicle from a house on Benson Lane.
A 30-year-old Trenton man was arrested on outstanding warrants from Ewing and Lawrence townships after he was stopped by police for a motor vehicle violation on W. Broad Street May 19. He was taken to the Hopewell Township Police Department to be processed and then turned over to the Ewing Township Police Department.
A 37-year-old Hopewell Borough man was charged with receiving stolen property after police were sent to Seminary Avenue on a report of a man who had possession of stolen property May 19. He was allegedly found to have about $2,500 worth of stolen property in his possession. He was taken to the Hopewell Township Police Department to be processed and then released.
A victim reported to police that they were assaulted while at work at Capital Health Medical Center – Hopewell after engaging in a physical altercation May 19. The victim suffered a minor injury.
Two Flemington men, ages 32 and 31, were charged with assorted offenses after police stopped to help them on Harbourton-Rocktown Road May 19. The 31-year-old driver was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. The 32-year-old passenger was arrested on an outstanding warrant and was also charged with hindering apprehension for giving police a false name. They were taken to the Hopewell Township Police Department to be processed and then released.
Someone posing as a sales representative contacted a business on Route 31 and requested payment of a $15,000 balance for prior services May 19. The victim learned that the call was a fraudulent attempt to obtain money and notified police.
A Hedgecroft Drive resident told police that they had placed a deposit on an apartment rental via wireless transfer. The victim tried to contact the renter after the transaction was completed, and then realized it was a fraudulent posting. The incident was reported May 23.
