Primaries set election fields in Freehold Borough, Freehold Township, Manalapan

The June 7 primary elections have confirmed the candidates who will run for local office in the Nov. 8 general election in Freehold Borough, Freehold Township and Manalapan.

There is no municipal election in Marlboro this year.

The results of the primary elections and the vote totals have been posted online by the Monmouth County Clerk’s Office. The results are unofficial until they have been certified by the county.

Freehold Borough – Democratic voters in Freehold Borough have nominated Borough Councilwoman Margaret Rogers and Borough Councilman Adam Reich to run for new three-year terms on the Borough Council in the Nov. 8 general election.

Rogers and Reich were unopposed in the June 7 primary election and will be unopposed in November. No Republicans filed a nominating position to seek the two available terms on the municipal governing body.

According to the county clerk’s office, Rogers received 297 votes and Reich received 297 votes in the primary election.

Freehold Township – Republican voters have nominated Township Committeewoman Maureen Fasano, who is serving as Freehold Township’s mayor in 2022, to run for a new three-year term on the Township Committee in the Nov. 8 general election.

Fasano was unopposed in the June 7 primary election and will be unopposed in November. No Democrat filed a nominating position to seek the one available term on the municipal governing body.

According to the county clerk’s office, Fasano received 1,764 votes in the primary election.

Manalapan – There will be a contest for two seats on the Township Committee in the Nov. 8 general election.

Republican voters have nominated Township Committeewoman Mary Ann Musich, who is serving as Manalapan’s deputy mayor in 2022, and Township Committeeman Eric Nelson to run for new three-year terms on the Township Committee in November.

Musich and Nelson were unopposed in the primary. Musich received 1,743 votes and Nelson received 1,750 votes in the primary.

Democratic voters have nominated Lisa Lenn and Jamie Herr to run for three-year terms on the Township Committee.

Lenn and Herr were unopposed in the primary. Lenn received 1,189 votes and Herr received 1,171 votes in the primary.
