National Night Out is an annual community event that was created nationally in the 1980s as a community building campaign in an effort to make communities safer, according to its website.

During Hopewell Valley’s National Night Out, families were able to meet officers in Hopewell Township and Pennington who serve the municipalities that make Hopewell Valley – Hopewell Township, Pennington and Hopewell Borough.

The families were also able to personally meet their local firefighters and first aid squads.
