When voters in Englishtown, Freehold Borough, Freehold Township, Manalapan and Marlboro go to the polls on Nov. 8 to elect members of governmental bodies, they will also vote to elect members of their local school boards.
July 25 was the deadline for New Jersey residents to file a nominating petition to run for a seat on a board of education.
Elected school board members in New Jersey serve without compensation.
On the Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District Board of Education, three three-year terms and one one-year term will be on the ballot in Manalapan.
The three three-year terms are being sought by four residents; incumbent board members Ryan Green, David Kane and Christine Parisi, and by Stacey Einziger, who previously ran for a seat on the board.
No residents filed a nominating petition to run for the one-year unexpired term on the board and the winner of that seat could be decided by write-in votes.
The Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District Board of Education has eight representatives from Manalapan and one representative from Englishtown. The Englishtown seat is not on the ballot this year.
In Freehold Borough, incumbent board members Brent Costleigh and Kimberly Wright are running unopposed for three three-year terms on the Freehold Borough K-8 School District Board of Education.
No resident filed a nominating petition to run for the third available three-year term and the winner of that seat could be decided by write-in votes.
Paul Ceppi is not seeking to retain his seat on the board.
In Freehold Township, seven residents are seeking three three-year terms on the Freehold Township K-8 School District Board of Education.
The seats currently held by board members Michael Matthews, Elena O’Sullivan and Jennifer Patten will be on the ballot on Nov. 8.
The seven candidates seeking the three three-year terms are Matthews, O’Sullivan, Patten, Angela Barbella, Renata Brand, Faith Edwards and Jeffrey Williams.
In Marlboro, five residents are seeking three three-year terms on the Marlboro K-8 School District Board of Education.
The seats currently held by Randy Heller, Jennifer Silacci and Tricia Branch will be on the ballot on Nov. 8.
The five candidates seeking the three three-year terms are Heller, Silacci, former board member Michael Lilonsky, Annette Siewert and Anu Shanbhag.
Branch is not seeking to retain her seat on the board.
On the Freehold Regional High School District Board of Education, which serves Colts Neck, Englishtown, Farmingdale, Freehold Borough, Freehold Township, Howell, Manalapan and Marlboro, the Englishtown seat, the Farmingdale seat and one of Howell’s two seats will be on the Nov. 8 ballot.
In Englishtown, incumbent Diana Cappiello is running unopposed for a three-year term on the regional school board. Under the district’s voting rules, residents in Englishtown and Manalapan will be able to vote for Cappiello.
In Farmingdale, incumbent Kathie Lavin is running unopposed for a three-year term on the regional school board. Under the district’s voting rules, residents in Farmingdale and Howell will be able to vote for Lavin.
In Howell, incumbent Marc Parisi is running unopposed for a three-year term on the regional school board. Under the district’s voting rules, residents in Howell and Farmingdale will be able to vote for Parisi.
Colts Neck, Englishtown, Farmingdale, Freehold Borough, Freehold Township, Manalapan and Marlboro each have one representative on the FRHSD board and Howell has two representatives on the FRHSD board.
