MARLBORO – Residents will come together to celebrate their community when the 38th annual edition of Marlboro Day takes place from noon to 5 p.m. Sept. 18 at the Marlboro Municipal Complex, 1979 Township Drive.

Activities and events have been planned for multiple age groups. There will be rides and inflatables for the youngest attendees and a fitness challenge directed by Police Chief Peter Pezzullo for those interested in athletic pursuits.

Marlboro Day will welcome a petting zoo, more than 60 vendor booths, more than a dozen food trucks, a stage featuring musical acts and demonstrations throughout the day, and Mayor Jonathan Hornik’s Football Lounge for those who want to watch some NFL action.

“Marlboro Day is my favorite holiday and the best day of the year. The event that began with a few vendors 38 years ago has grown into a huge event attracting thousands,” Hornik said.

“The recreation staff, led by Suzi Leifer, spends most of the year planning for Marlboro Day and it gets bigger and better every year. We could not accomplish all we do without our volunteers.

“The Recreation and Swim Committee, chaired by Adam Dictrow, guides the recreation programming and will be on site all day.

“The members of our Teen Advisory Committee will be on hand to help vendors and welcome visitors, and the Marlboro Police Department’s Police Cadets will assist police with traffic and parking.

“I invite everyone to stop by the Mayor’s Football Lounge to enjoy the games and to say hello,” the mayor said.

The rain date for Marlboro Day is Oct. 2.

Parking is available at the municipal complex.

Parking for vehicles that display a handicapped placard will be available at the Marlboro K-8 School District administrative building and at Town Hall, both on Township Drive.

Overflow parking will be available at Marlboro Elementary School, 100 School Road West; Marlboro Middle School, 335 Route 520; Marlboro Recreation Community Center, 1996 Recreation Way; and the Marlboro Library, 1 Library Court. Shuttle buses will bring attendees to and from those locations.
