Brookdale Community College has announced that President David M. Stout, Ph.D., has been named to ROI-NJ’s Influencers: Higher Education 2022 list. Each year, ROI-NJ lists the presidents with the greatest influence and impact on their schools and within the business community.
Brookdale serves more than 20,000 students at its six locations throughout Monmouth County, including the 220-acre main campus in the Lincroft section of Middletown, according to a press release.
Over the past year, Brookdale Community College was ranked No. 1 in offering the best community college programs in New Jersey, according to research by Best-Community-College.com
The college has also been recognized for four top programs in the United States by Intelligent.com, and for two years in a row, recognized among the top-ranked institutions offering the Best Associate in Psychology Degree Programs, together with the Best Transfer Program, positioning itself as a front-runner for preparing students for a four-year degree at a university or college, according to the press release.
Red Bank Catholic High School, Red Bank, has appointed Kathleen Daly, a Casey almuna of the class of 2003, as the director of advancement.
Robert Abatemarco, the president of RBC, made the announcement as the 2022-23 school year begins and RBC celebrates its rich history and 95th year, according to a press release.
“I am so pleased to welcome Kathleen back to campus as a member of our leadership team. Kathleen has an impressive background helping other mission-driven organizations and her leadership and expertise will be a tremendous asset as we set the course for the
future of RBC,” Abatemarco said.
As RBC’s director of advancement, Daly will oversee alumni relations, communications, marketing and fundraising.
Daly, her husband and three children reside in Shrewsbury, where she is an active member of the community, the PTA and the Foundation for Shrewsbury Education, according to the press release.
Monmouth County Clerk Christine Giordano Hanlon has announced that Marge and Paul Edelson are the winners of the 2022 Jane G. Clayton Award. They will receive the award at the County Clerk’s 26th Annual Archives and History Day on Oct. 1 at the Robert J. Collins Arena at Brookdale Community College, Lincroft.
“Marge and Paul Edelson have been instrumental in the formation of the Township of Ocean Historical Museum and have played a crucial role in helping to establish it as the strong institution it is today,” Hanlon said.
The Edelsons have been active in promoting Ocean Township’s history dating back to the 1970s, according to a press release from the county.
Marge was a charter member of the Ocean Township Historical Society and co-authored two books about the township. She co-founded the Township of Ocean Historical Museum in 1984 and has served as president.
Paul played an important role in securing the museum’s first home at the Oakhurst
School. Starting in 2001, he worked to help save the Woolley house and oversee its
move to its current location where it opened in 2009. He has served as president for
nearly a decade and has helped to raise funds and oversee the restoration of the
historic Tower and Cow Barn near the museum, according to the press release.
The Jersey Shore Rescue Mission, a relief and rehabilitation center in Asbury Park, will host its fifth annual 5K Race and Family Walk on Oct. 29 on the Asbury Park boardwalk.
There will be a 5-kilometer run, a 2-mile family walk and a kids fun run. Proceeds from the race will support the Jersey Shore Rescue Mission, a 501(c)3 organization that provides meals, shelter and a men’s addiction recovery program free of charge to individuals in need, according to a press release.
