Local business donates ballistic vests to South Brunswick Police Department

The South Brunswick Police Department is a receiving a financial boost to purchase new ballistic vests from Petro Pallet, a full-service pallet company, in Monmouth Junction.

Tony Lanza, owner of Petro Pallet, reached out to Police Chief Raymond Hayducka and donated a check for $5,000 to cover the cost of five new ballistic vest for the police department to purchase vests for its officers.

“As an agency, we needed to cover the costs of 24 new ballistic vests this year, along with the costs associated with many other pieces of equipment needed to keep our officers safe and effective,” Hayducka said.

According to the police department, they are seeing increased costs for training and equipment for the department’s officers. 

Increased costs of new equipment as well as the training necessary to keep our officers functioning at a high level can become burdensome,” Hayducka said. “The donation of five vests by Petro Pallet helps enormously. We appreciate their support.”
