Lawrence Township man faces multiple charges in connection with burglaries

A 28-year-old Lawrence Township man is facing multiple charges for allegedly breaking into and attempting to break into closed businesses during early morning hours, according to the Lawrence Township Police Department.

He allegedly broke into the Volvo of Princeton dealership on Brunswick Pike around 3:16 a.m. on Sept. 20 and stole items from the service area and the main office area, police said.

The man then left the dealership and allegedly attempted to break into the Midas Muffler store.

The man was stopped after he was spotted leaving a business on Brunswick Pike that was closed at 5:48 a.m. on Sept. 22. During the course of the investigation, the driver was apprehended on several outstanding warrants, police said.

After an extensive follow-up investigation, a Lawrence Township police detective charged the man with burglary, theft and criminal attempted burglary for the Sept. 20 incidents.

The man was taken to the Mercer County Correction Center, pending a court appearance.
