Pennsylvania woman charged in alleged fatal shooting of Old Bridge woman at her home

OLD BRDIGE – A Pennsylvania woman has been charged with the fatal shooting of a 65-year-old woman at her Old Bridge residence, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yoland Ciccone and Acting Chief Donald Fritz Jr., of the Old Bridge Police Department.

Elizabeth Jackson, 61, of Yeadon, Pa., is charged with one count of first-degree murder and one count of second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, according to a press release through the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office on Sept. 23.

Authorities received a 911 call reporting that a female was found unresponsive in her home by a relative at approximately 11:05 a.m. on Sept. 17. Police responded to the residence on Hanna Lane and located Deborah Brown-Hepworth, 65, who had sustained a gunshot wound and was subsequently pronounced deceased, according to the press release.

Jackson was charged after an investigation by Detective Addie Spinola of the Old Bridge Police Department and Detective Mark Morris of The Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.

This was not a random act of violence. Jackson knew the victim, according to the press release.

Jackson was apprehended at her residence without incident in Pennsylvania on Sept. 22.
