A full season of live concerts and tours are ahead for Princeton Girlchoir and Princeton Boychoir of Westrick Music Academy for the 2022-23 season.
Young singers in grades 3 through 12 throughout central New Jersey and Bucks County, Pa., have been hard at work, coming together and rehearsing each week, according to a press release through Westrick Music Academy.
This comes after two years of theaters and concert halls around the world being shuttered due to the coronavirus pandemic. And members of the choirs are “ecstatic” to bring the “gift of song” to local, national and international communities, according to the press release.
Upcoming concerts will include a mix of professional engagements, youth choir collaborations, and community outreach events.
Highlights of the season include:
Oct. 29: Choral Spooktacular with Princeton Girlchoir at Nassau Presbyterian Church, 61 Nassau St., Princeton.
Nov. 19: Children Making a Difference Benefit Concert with Princeton Girlchoir at Nassau Presbyterian Church.
Dec. 4: Princeton Boychoir will accompany Boheme Opera Company’s production of Hansel and Gretel
Dec. 11: Holiday Harmonies with Princeton Boychoir at All Saints Church, 16 All Saints Road, Princeton.
Dec. 16-18: Princeton Girlchoir will accompany the American Repertory Ballet production of The Nutcracker at the State Theater, 15 Livingston Ave., New Brunswick.
Dec. 18: Princeton Girlchoir Ensemble joins Glassbrook Vocal Ensemble in a holiday concert.
Additional “Holiday Sings” will be held throughout the community in December, including the Arts Council of Princeton’s Artist Chalet Winter Village in Hinds Plaza (outside the Princeton Public Library, 65 Witherspoon St., Princeton).
Jan. 29, 2023: PGC United in Song concert brings together all six choirs of Princeton Girlchoir in concert at Patriots Theater at the War Memorial [MOU2], 125 W. State St., Trenton.
Feb. 1, 2023: presented by Princeton University Concerts, PGC will accompany Mezzo-Soprano Joyce DiDonato in EDEN at Richardson Hall.
April 22, 2023: Westrick Music Academy Choral Festival. Young singers throughout the central New Jersey and Bucks County area are invited to join Princeton Girlchoir and Princeton Boychoir in a day of song.
April 23, 2023: Princeton Girlchoir and Princeton Boychoir perform as part of the Newtown Presbyterian Church Concert Series, 25 N. Chancellor St., Newtown, Pa.
Spring Concert Series
May 5, 2023: A Musical Mosaic with Princeton Girlchoir’s beginning and intermediate singers at Nassau Presbyterian Church, Princeton.
May 7, 2023: Princeton Girlchoir’s advanced choirs perform at Mayo Hall on the campus of The College of New Jersey (TCNJ), 2000 Pennington Road, Ewing.
May 13, 2023: Princeton Boychoir performs at Mayo Hall on the campus of TCNJ.
June 9-11, 2023: Princeton Girlchoir Semi-Tones tours New York and performs at Carnegie Hall.
Princeton Girlchoir advanced choirs tour and perform in Spain and Portugal in July 2023.
Princeton Boychoir tours New England, including their debut at Carnegie Hall in July 2023.
August 2023 – Camp Westrick! Come join us for a summer jam session! No audition is required.
