Hopewell Township Police blotter

A victim reported the theft of a wallet while hospitalized at Capital Health Medical Center – Hopewell between March 2 and March 3. The victim, who reported the theft March 5, suffered a total loss of $433.

A Trenton man was arrested on an outstanding warrant for $1,000 from the Ewing Township Municipal Court following a motor vehicle stop on West Broad Street in Hopewell Borough March 3. He was processed and released.

A Trenton woman was charged with shoplifting on a summons March 3. Through an investigation, it was discovered that she had filled a shopping cart with numerous items and attempted to leave the ShopRite grocery store in Pennington. The woman fled before police arrived, but her identity was determined through the investigation.

A victim reported the theft of a cellphone from Rose and Chubby’s restaurant on Railroad Place in Hopewell Borough March 2. The theft occurred between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. The cell phone was valued at $850.

A victim reported finding an unauthorized iPhone on their Verizon phone bill, which had been purchased using the victim’s personal information. The victim had been paying for service for the iPhone for 14 months, resulting in a loss of $700. The incident of fraud was reported Feb. 28.

In two trips, a shoplifter took assorted grocery items valued at a combine $653.32 from the Stop & Shop grocery store on Denow Road Feb. 25. The man was observed on surveillance video leaving the store with a shopping cart full of Tide detergent without paying at 4:03 p.m. He returned at 4:17 p.m. and left the store with a shopping cart full of other items without paying for them.
