Montgomery Township police blotter

A 17-year-old Princeton man was issued a summons for careless driving after he lost control of his Volkswagen Passat, struck a mailbox and rolled over into an embankment on Cherry Hill Road Feb. 24. The driver told police he spilled tea on himself and took his eyes off the roadway. He was able to get out of the car with help from a passing motorist.

A Raritan Borough man who was going door to door to solicit driveway repairs on Meadow Run Drive was issued an ordinance violation for soliciting without a permit Feb. 23. During the investigation, another man from Raritan Borough, who was with the alleged solicitor was found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest from South Bound Brook. He was processed and released.

A 68-year-old Oakland Gardens, N.Y. woman was driving on Cherry Valley Road when her 2017 Subaru left the roadway and struck a utility pole Fec. 21. She told police that she may have fallen asleep after feeling fatigued. She was issued a summons for careless driving.

A 30-year-old Trenton man was arrested on a $450 outstanding warrant from the West Windsor Township Municipal Court following a motor vehicle stop on Route 206 Feb. 16. A police officer stopped him after observing that the driver’s side front tire on his 2010 Range Rover appeared to be close to falling off the vehicle. He was processed and released.

A 61-year-old Lawrence Township man was issued a summons for careless driving after his 2017 Peterbuilt dump truck struck the rear of a 2017 Nissan driven by a Pennsylvania man that had stopped for a school bus on Route 601/The Great Road Feb. 10. He told police that he was distracted by a deer that was attempting to cross the road, and he could not stop in time to avoid striking the car in front of him.

A 35-year-old Burlington man was arrested on outstanding warrants totaling $4,803 from Westampton Jan. 17. He was stopped by police during a mobile inspection checkpoint on Route 206 near the Princeton Airport. He was released to the Westampton Township Police Department.
