Michigan man found with seven-inch knife after alleged theft of laptop

A 50-year-old Michigan man allegedly took an Apple Macbook laptop computer and its charger out of a backpack that had been left on Hinds Plaza outside the Princeton Public Library March 5, according to the Princeton Police Department.

The victim was able to trace the location of the laptop computer with his cellphone, police said.

The alleged thief was located on Nassau Street, and had the laptop computer in his possession, police said. During the investigation, he was found to be also in possession of a seven-inch knife and several burglar tools.

The man was charged with theft, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of burglar tools. He was processed and taken to the Mercer County Correction Center.
