A 34-year-old Phillipsburg woman was issued summonses for careless driving and failure to wear a seat belt after she lost control of her Toyota Camry and struck an embankment on Belle Mead-Griggstown Road April 1. She was attempting to turn right from River Road onto Belle Mead-Griggstown Road when she lost control of the car.

A 17-year-old Belle Mead woman was issued a summons for failure to yield the right of way March 30 after she attempted to turn left onto River Road from Belle Mead-Griggstown Road in front of another vehicle driven by a 48-year-old Belle Mead woman.

A field fire on Pin Oak Road was sparked by a fallen tree limb that knocked down a PSE&G power line March 15. The fire spread to a neighboring lawn across the street due to windy conditions. The fire was extinguished by volunteer firefighters from Montgomery Volunteer Fire Co. No. 1 and Montgomery Volunteer Fire Co. No. 2.

A 33-year-old Belle Mead man was charged with driving under the influence, refusal to submit breath samples, leaving the scene of a crash, failure to report a crash, careless driving and reckless driving March 8. The man, in a 2017 Dodge Ram pickup truck, allegedly struck another vehicle on Route 206 near Sunset Road and left the scene. The other driver followed him and provided his location to police, who stopped him on Sleepy Hollow Lane. He was processed and released.

A 42-year-old Washington (New Jersey) man was charged with driving under the influence and reckless driving after police stopped to check on an occupied car that was parked in a car dealership lot at 12:45 a.m. March 4. The man allegedly showed signs of impairment a and failed field sobriety tests. He was processed and released.
