Hopewell Township Police blotter

A Hopewell Borough woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Bucks County, Pa., following a motor vehicle stop on Route 31 near Pennington-Titusville Road May 12. She was taken to the Mercer County Correction Center in default of bail.

Two women attempted to cash a check at the Santander Bank May 11, but were denied after bank personnel suspected the check was fraudulent. The victim did not suffer any financial loss.

A Pennington man was charged with driving under the influence following a single-car crash on Elm Ridge Road May 6. He was arrested after failing field sobriety tests. He was processed and released.

A Trenton woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Robbinsville Township following a motor vehicle stop on Pennington Road near the I-95 ramp May 6. She was processed and released.

A Hamilton Township man was charged with driving under the influence and other motor vehicle violations following a car crash on Maddock Road May 5. He was arrested after failing field sobriety tests. He was processed and released.

A PSE&G supervisor reported the theft of $7,000 worth of copper ground wire from a property on Province Line Road. The theft occurred between November 2022 and May 5.

A victim lost $5,062 after someone removed a bank check from his mail and forged his signature to deposit the money into an unknown bank account. The victim learned of the theft when he was notified of the outstanding bill that the check was intended to pay. The incident was reported May 4.

Several chainsaws, valued at a combined $1,050, were reported stolen from a shed at a Hopewell-Princeton Road property between April 26 and April 27. The theft was reported May 2.

The driver of a Toyota RAV 4 SUV drove off without paying for $44.02 worth of gasoline at the Gulf service station on Route 31 May 1. The driver asked the attendant for gasoline and said he would pay cash. When the attendant came to the driver’s window for payment, he drove off without paying.

A Delaware man was charged with driving under the influence and other motor vehicle violations on May 1. A police officer was sent to investigate a driver who fell asleep behind the wheel of his vehicle at the intersection of Route 31 and Route 518. The man was arrested after failing field sobriety tests. He was processed and released.
