Cranbury primary results: Scott earns Democratic nomination

Incumbent Committeeman Matt Scott is expected to earn the Democratic nomination for the November general election as he seeks re-election to another term on the Cranbury Township Committee.

In the Democratic primary, Scott ran in an uncontested primary race for the nomination and received 219 votes. There were also three write-in votes cast during the primary.

No Republican candidates officially filed to run for the Republican nomination in the June primary for the Township Committee seat. However, there were 21 write-in votes in the Republican primary.

The general election for the race is set to take place on Nov. 7.

The primary results reflect what has been posted online by the Middlesex County Clerk’s Office as of June 6.

The results of the primary election will remain unofficial until they are certified.
