On Jan. 7, Greater Somerset County YMCA continued to commemorate its 150th anniversary by gathering to celebrate devoted volunteers as new inductees to the Founders Circle.
Inductees were honored with an unveiling of their names on the Founders’ Tree at Somerset Hills YMCA.
The Founders Circle was established in 1991 to honor longtime volunteers who, through their talents, passion, service, and contributions, have not only enhanced the sustainability of Greater Somerset County YMCA but also strengthened the community.
New Inductees to the Founders Circle include:
- James Gibson, Mark Irwin, John McManus, and The Raynes Family (Basking Ridge)
- Susan Doherty, Lois and Neil Gagnon, and Leslie Quick III (Bernardsville)
- Peter Olsen (Califon)
- Harry Smith (Hillsborough)
- Tad Waldbauer (Hobe Sand, Florida)
- The Bateman Family (Neshanic)
- Lauren Luik (Oxford, Massachusetts)
- Robert Raymar (Philadelphia)
- Michael Osterman (Pottersville)
- Patricia Hurley (San Francisco)
- The Hockenbury Family, The McLachlan Family, The Perantoni Family, The Stires
Family, and Andrea Thorne (Somerville) - Sylvester Sullivan (posthumous recognition).
