Raymond Charles Lachapelle, 86 of Spring, Texas died peacefully Saturday morning, March 29, 2025. Born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts on August 8, 1938 to Charlotte (Ryan) Lachapelle and Romuald Lachapelle.
He graduated from St. Bernard’s High School in 1957. Mr. Lachapelle joined the United States Marine Corps after high school graduation. He started his career, after his honorable discharge, in insurance sales, then transitioned into selling plastic raw materials for Amoco Chemical. He grew in his career to become President of Plastics Color and Compounding. His hobbies were tennis, racketball, golf, and skiing. He was an active and proud member of the Knights of Columbus, both 3rd, and 4th Degree Organizations. Prior to moving to Texas, he and his family lived in New Jersey until he retired to Florida. He lived life to its fullest, “his way”!
He is survived by his wife of 65 years Janet (Lizotte) Lachapelle, and their 4 children: Keith J. Lachapelle and partner Jeffrey Kramer; Shaun M. Lachapelle, wife Kathleen Lachapelle and their son Sheamus Ryan Lachapelle; Robin A. Lachapelle; Tracey Lachapelle-Deasy, husband Sean Michael Deasy and their sons Declan William Deasy and Chase Raymond Deasy. Ray loved his family “to infinity and beyond”! He is also survived by his siblings and their families: Jean Kelleher; Richard Lachapelle, his wife Arline Lachapelle; Maureen St. Amand; Ann Nugent, her husband John Nugent Jr. and Michael Lachapelle, his wife Louise Lachapelle; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his beloved brother David Lachapelle, beloved sister-in-law Eileen Lachapelle, and beloved brother-in-law John Kelleher. Each one so very much missed.
Mr. Lachapelle was cremated on April 3, 2025. A funeral mass, with the Knights of Columbus Ceremony, was celebrated on April 9, 2025 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in The Woodlands, Texas. A Military Ceremony took place at the Houston National Military Cemetery with the unfurling of the flag, taps, Three – Volley Salute and presentation of the folded flag to his wife. Upon exiting, a bagpiper played “O Danny Boy”, Ray’s favorite Irish tune.
He is with God in eternal peace and will be missed by those who loved him.
