A 36-year-old Trenton resident was charged with shoplifting on June 3 after being stopped by Home Depot loss prevention personnel for allegedly attempting to leave the store without paying for a ladder valued at $299. The suspect fled the area, but was stopped a short distance away. The suspect was also charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving, careless driving, driving while suspended and having an expired driver’s license. The suspect was processed and released.

A 26-year-old Beachwood man was charged with shoplifting for allegedly switching price tags from the items he selected to cheaper items for a total value of $236.90 on June 3. He was also found to have an active warrant from Ocean Township. He was processed and released.

A 43-year-old East Windsor Township man was charged with shoplifting on May 30 in connection with an incident that occurred at ShopRite on May 26. He allegedly left the store without paying for seafood and meat valued at $124.62. A detective identified him as the suspect and also charged him with six more counts of shoplifting after Shoprite loss prevention personnel told police that he had committed similar thefts on several occasions. He was processed and released after turning himself in to police.

A 26-year-old Paterson man was charged with using a cell phone while driving after he was stopped by a police officer who noticed him using it as he was driving on Route 130 on May 29. The man was also found to have active warrants from Howell Township and Ocean County. He was processed and turned over to the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department.
