A trio of 15-year-old juveniles are facing charges of carjacking, weapons offenses and other violations after allegedly stealing a taxi cab from the parking lot of the Windsor Regency, according to the East Windsor Police Department.
The victim, who is a taxi cab driver, told police that the three teens held a large knife to him and ordered him out of the taxi cab at 12:54 a.m. June 14. They took some of his personal belongings before fleeing in the stolen taxi, which was found abandoned a short distance away.
Also on June 14, another victim reported that their vehicle had been burglarized while it was parked at the Windsor Regency.
A detective was assigned to the case and identified the three suspects. They are facing additional charges of robbery, burglary, theft, criminal mischief and possession of burglar tools.
The teens were taken into custody on June 25. They were taken to the Middlesex County Juvenile Detention Center, pending a court hearing.
