Susan Van Dyke is loved by many for her friendship, kindness, intelligence, and charm. She passed away in Pennington, NJ, on June 26th, 2025, just two days before her 84th birthday. Her daughters admired her bravery during a long struggle with heart failure.

Susan grew up on Main Street in Pennington with her parents, Eleanor and Ralph Fisher, and her sisters, Barbara Fisher, deceased; Judy Hausdoerffer and Edie Branham, both of New Jersey. She adored her four grandsons: Henry Sickels, Alexander Sickels, Charlie McConathy, and Jack McConathy.

Susan married her Pennington sweetheart Roy Van Dyke, and raised three daughters, Wendy Tillman of Arvada, CO; Karen Sickels of San Diego, CA; and Mandy McConathy of Granby, CO.

Susan attended Penn State and studied Dietetics, and then worked at Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, a job she loved.

Susan and Roy traveled the World. She especially loved Paris! They lived in Quebec, Canada; Beach Haven, NJ; Granby, CO; and Cape Charles, VA where they raised chickens, stray cats, and a very large dog named Dooley.

Susan’s funeral is being held at Pennington Presbyterian Church on Monday, July 7th, at 2 p.m.

Donations may be made in her name to Tabby’s Place, Ringoes, NJ.
