About the Walk: A day of family fun with pre-walk, complimentary hot chocolate, coffee and donuts, a no-pressure 1-mile walk along a beach-side boardwalk and a post-event celebration complete with buffet lunch provided by Leggett’s Sand Bar. The event is made possible by sponsors Circle Hyundai, Circle BMW, Monmouth University and WRAT 95.9, which will also be broadcasting live from the event.
With the help of local families and businesses, the Autism MVP Foundation is making a big impact on the lives of students on the autism spectrum and the New Jersey educators trained to teach them. To date, they have raised more than $60,000. This year, because of the support of our community, the foundation is again offering scholarships to students at Monmouth University who are furthering their education as professionals in the field of autism. The foundation also continues to fund the Autism Program Improvement Project at Monmouth University.
100% of proceeds support professionals in the field of autism education. The Autism Program Improvement Project is the only known program of its kind in the country where in-school, autism-focused training is provided at no cost to a district or teachers. Proceeds also benefit the newly-formed scholarship program with Monmouth University’s Department of Education.
