Join Liberated Learners in a community discussion inspired by Chasing Childhood, a new feature documentary about how free play has virtually disappeared for today’s children, while stress and expectations for performance, achievement, and busyness have skyrocketed. Parents, children, and experts alike are ringing the alarm bell about the dramatic rise in anxiety and depression in young children and teens—and championing the antidote that freedom and play could offer. People who register for the event will have access to the film a few days prior to the discussion.

The facilitated discussion will include a group of panelists, including eminent evolutionary psychologist Peter Gray, a leading researcher in the importance of play in human evolution and how children educate themselves through play and exploration when allowed to do so. Other panelists include parents and young people from self-directed education centers in the Liberated Learners network.

Reserve your ticket now via Eventbrite (donation required). Your ticket confirmation will include a link to the discussion event with Peter Gray. People who register will receive a link on Nov. 2 that they can use to view the film, which will remain live until Nov 5.
