Singing with CAS – what you need to know:
·      Choral Art Society of NJ (CAS) – since 1963 – is a community chorus dedicated to the study and performance of the choral literature. Under the direction of conductor Martin Sedek, the choir performs two concerts each year, usually with orchestral accompaniment.
·      CAS is an avocational ensemble, so auditions are not required; though singing and basic music reading ability is required. A hearing session will take place with the director to confirm voice part.
·      CAS is a dues-paying organization. Membership dues are $150 for the full year, plus the cost of music (appx. $20/concert).
Choral Art Society rehearses in the choir room of The Presbyterian Church in Westfield, 140 Mountain Ave. Westfield NJ, on Tuesday evenings from 7:30-10:00 PM.  Prospective singers are invited to attend the chorus’ first rehearsal on September 4th to participate and to observe music director Martin Sedek’s rehearsal style.
