Managing your finances is not easy, neither is finding the right financial advisor. In honor of National Finance Planning Month join us at the Woodbridge Main Library- Tuesday, October 1 at 7PM. Woodbridge native Andy Panko  is here to guide you through the different types of financial advisors out there. “Financial advisors, ”wealth advisors,” “financial consultants,” etc– have different sets of underlying regulations which dictate what they can do and how they get compensated. Learn which advisors are legally required to always act in their client’s best interest rather than the interest of their company. Andy will also cover what sources to use to find financials advisors, what the various credentials mean (like CFP, ChFC, CPA, PFS, CLU, etc.), what questions to ask when interviewing financial advisors, how to know exactly how much you’re paying your advisor, and so forth.

Andy Panko is a Woodbridge native who now resides in Edison with his wife and two daughters. He has 19 years of professional experience at multiple global insurance, brokerage and banking organizations. Andy is also the owner of a tax return preparation company, Tenon Tax Preparation LLC, and is in the process of launching a retirement planning and investment management company, Tenon Financial LLC.

Andy holds the Certified Financial Planner (“CFP®”) and Retirement Income Certified Professional (“RICP®”) designations, as well as the IRS Enrolled Agent license. He has an undergraduate degree in finance from the University of Delaware and a Master of Business Administration from Rutgers University.  Furthermore, Andy previously taught four semesters of finance courses as an adjunct lecturer for Rutgers Business School.
