Terry Antoniewicz, a calligrapher and creator of documents for royalty, governments, religious groups and movie sets globally, will present this workshop step-by-step, from how to make your basic writing strokes consistent with a wide-tipped marker, to the simple magic of connecting the strokes and designing words.  The finishing steps of the presentation will assist each participant in designing a beautiful signature, complete with the fancy flourishes that make even a simple design look stunning.

Whether you want to learn some basics to improve your handwriting or explore more of your creative side for scrapbooking, making handmade cards or even hand-lettering your wedding invitations, investing three hours of your time can introduce you to a wonderful world of beautiful lettering.

Paper, worksheets, letter samples and a black calligraphy marker will be provided to the workshop participants.  You are free to bring along your own color pencils, color markers, brush markers, etc.

Terry has been a professional and very contagiously passionate calligrapher, educator and program presenter internationally for over 50 years with studios in Chicago, the greater NYC area and Toronto.  While handwriting/penmanship does not get the attention it has in the past, it still has a special need and place in all our lives.

This project is supported by funds from LibraryLinkNJ as part of the Level Up Your Library mini-grant program. LibraryLinkNJ and its services are funded by the New Jersey State Library.
