The Jersey Shore Arts Center and TCT Artists Exchange are pleased to present a weekend of music in celebration of Juneteenth at the Arts Center’s Palaia Theater. Tickets are $20 each night and advance tickets are strongly recommended as space is limited.
The weekend kicks off on Friday, June 16 at 7:00 pm with Dr. K’s Motown Revue. This seven-member band features five incredible vocalists who recreate the sounds of Motown’s biggest stars, from the Four Tops, the Temptations, and the Supremes to Marvin Gaye, Junior Walker, Smokey Robinson, Gladys Knight, and Mary Wells. Come hear your favorite hits performed live and relive the sixties — when Motown ruled!
Then on Saturday June 17 at 7:00 pm the Palaia opens with a 25-minute set by N&D Electric. Nicole and Dash are Freehold/Jersey Shore-based musicians who have been entertaining in the area for over 20 years. They are also both public school teachers!
Next, the evening continues with the soulful sounds of Valerie Adams and the Dimensions Band, who perform in venues throughout NJ, followed by the evening’s headliner, the one and only, Jackie Venson. Jackie is currently on tour selling out venue after venue across the US as she explodes onto the music scene. Besides performing, touring, and releasing her own original music, she recently played lead guitar for Alanis Morissette and Lainey Wilson on the CMTs and has shared the stage with the likes of Melissa Etheridge as well as many other major acts over the years.
Sunday June 18 closes out the weekend with Kyle Jason & the Martini Swing at 7:30. Echoing soul and funk artists of the 60’s and 70’s and the talent and style of Sinatra’s “Rat Pack,” this is the ultimate night out on the town!
