The great Buddhist master Nagarjuna wrote “from giving comes wealth.” Although this sounds contradictory at first, when we practice giving we discover it is true on multiple levels. Our own generosity enriches our life inside and out, and it comes back to us through karma.
Sometimes our practice of giving can become complicated or difficult because of our own expectations or because we give with strings attached. The good news is that we can gradually train to reduce and let go of these problems so that our practice of giving becomes more and more light and joyful.
