Do you like to make photos of food at a restaurant or at home? Producing successful food images challenges us to apply our understanding of light and composition in some unexpected ways. In this class, we’ll learn how a food photographer thinks about and sets up the scene to make mouth-watering food images. We’ll work with a couple of food setups, demonstrating and practicing approaches to photographing types of food with different lenses, lighting and props. We will explore using natural and artificial light to enhance the food’s appeal, lighting a table, food styling and using light modifiers to achieve different styles, as well as lens and gear selections and even tips for smartphone photography. We’ll end the day with a review of your images and Q & A.
