The New York Public Library’s Beaux-Arts historic landmark building and Bryant Park, a designated scenic landmark, offer an exciting pairing of iconic architecture with a vibrant Manhattan scene. We’ll shoot in the building’s majestic spaces, capturing the light from its massive windows and grand chandeliers and its voluminous collections. In Bryant Park, we’ll find decorative kiosks, sculpture and street scenes and the famed seasonal skating rink.
We’ll begin with a discussion of composition, lighting, camera settings and learn how to capture motion and change perspectives. During the day, we will explore this historic building and go outdoors (rain or shine) to shoot the details and people in Bryant Park, ending the day with a review and Q&A.
