This virtual program will include highlights and history surrounding the encampment of Rochambeau’s army of 5,000 men on the grounds of Morven between August 29-31., 1781 to commemorate the 240th anniversary of this march.

Marshal Jean-Baptiste Donatien de Vimeur, comte de Rochambeau, led the French expeditionary forces through Princeton in August 1781 to help the Continental Army capture Lord Cornwallis at Yorktown. Marching from Phillipsburg, NY, across New Jersey on separate routes, the allied forces united just north of Princeton, followed by the encampment of Rochambeau’s army of 5,000 men on the grounds of Morven on August 29-31, 1781.
