  • There are 365 days in most years and those days are saturated with struggle, heartbreak and joy. Some years more than most. In thirteen segments, members of Europium Dancetheater present a provocative and intimate view of our shared experiences. The pulse of powerful and beautiful music exposes these stories without dialogue. Some might describe 365 as a silent movie, which reveals that actions speak louder than words.
  • After the film, join a discussion panel for a lively conversation with Linda Erickson, director of Europium Dancetheater!
  • Choose the “Supper Club” ticket option to enjoy a chef-inspired dish prepared by Chef Supa DeRose of Supa Thai Cuisine. Details on the chef’s choice dinner and dessert below. Please be advised there will be no substitutions for the meal. Meal includes coffee or tea and one complimentary water or soda per guest.

Europium Dancetheater is bringing their film, 365, to Hopewell Theater. The company is based in New Hope, Pennsylvania, and is comprised of local professional and non-professional performers.

Europium Dancetheater brings the creative mix of avant-garde techniques known as Tanztheater which originated from the Expressionist era in Germany. Tanztheater features multiple segments of performance dance and improvisational acting revealing daily life as expressed through movement, dance, and the theatrical process. The goal is not to preach, dictate, or teach a moral. The effort is to simply present moments in life and the human emotional response.

Join us after the film for a discussion with Director Linda Erickson.

FILMMAKER BIO

Linda Erickson received her BA in Art and Dance from Florida State University and her MFA in Choreography from the University of North Carolina. In 1977 she started to work at the New York City Ballet. After leaving NYCB, she started The New York Dance Theater, a small professional company with former principal dancer Frank Ohman. In the 90s, she and Judith Fugate of the New York City Ballet formed Dance Galaxy, which toured New England and performed at The Joyce in New York.

After moving to Frenchtown from New York City, she choreographed for four years with the Performance Company of Ballet Classique. Upon moving to New Hope in 2013, she founded Europium Dancetheater. This allowed her to form a company that would be more in keeping with her evolving artistic vision from classical ballet to the avant-garde. This company has been active since its inception, with live performances on stage and in short films.

The Art of Living Well series features inspiring films, speakers, and interactive discussions exploring ways of cultivating serenity, meaning, and a deeper connection to one’s self and the world.
