The Many Faces Of King David

We tend to think of King David as heroic – the slayer of Goliath and the one who united Israel into one kingdom, but many of David’s actions were disturbingly “un-heroic”. Please join us as we examine the many faces of David, the second King of Israel.

Beverly Rubman (JD, MA – Jewish Studies) is a Chaplain in the Secure@Home program at JFCS and leads the agency’s bereavement and caregiver support groups. She also has been teaching Adult Education courses at Adath Israel Congregation for the past 15 years.

Roslyn Vanderbilt, retired Reading Specialist and former Children’s Librarian at The Jewish Center, visited Israel in 2016 as part of a Biblical Archeology study tour. During the trip she became fascinated with ancient Israel – its history, synagogues and mosaic floors. Since then she has done informal presentations about ancient Israel at Jewish Adult Education settings in the Princeton area.
