Donald Buzney is a former U.S. Marine officer and Vietnam combat veteran, Don Buzney hosts “The Veterans Corner” on Rutgers University Radio, WRSU – 88.7 FM. Guests have included former NJ Governor Christie Whitman, NJ Senator Corey Booker, U.S. NJ Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill, and Marine Major General John Toolan calling in from Helmand Province, Afghanistan. 

Don was born in Ohio, grew up in Venezuela, is fluent in Spanish, and has a master’s degree from Loyola – Chicago in Industrial Relations. He worked for the Navajo Nation in New Mexico from 2009 – 11, where he enjoyed his many interactions with the Navajo Code Talkers. During his college years he was a crew member on the SS United States and spent most of his career as a Human Resources executive in the casino industry. At the invitation of “9/11” families he was invited to recite his composition, “9/11/ 2001” at the second ground zero closing ceremony, June 2, 2002, at the site of the World Trade Center tragedy.
