East Brunswick Museum will hold its annual candlelight tours of the historic Chestnut Hill Cemetery on Old Bridge Turnpike on Saturday, October 12 and Sunday, October 13, 2019. Arrive anytime between 5:30 and 8:00PM either night to take a tour. Each tour is approximately 45 minutes long and concludes with light refreshments.
Over 500 luminaria (candles in bags) will line the walking path for the tour, which winds through the historic section of the cemetery. As visitors follow the path, they will be entertained by costumed re-enactors portraying former residents of East Brunswick and the surrounding area. The re-enactors bring these characters to life with displays and demonstrations.
The candlelight tours are open to the general public, but are not suitable for anyone with walking problems or children in strollers because of the hilly terrain. Visitors are encouraged to bring flashlights to ensure their safety. Free parking is available on site.
