HILLSBOROUGH: Reignited fire destroys Lima Farms barn

An accidental fire at Lima Family Farms at 828 Amwell Road destroyed a barn Friday.
Police responded Friday at about 1:30 p.m. and found heavy smoke coming from a pole barn.
Emergency personnel were assisting animals “in escaping from the barn,” said a police press release.
Firefighters put out the blaze, which caused no structural damage, police said.
The fire apparently rekindled during the night, with police and firefighters called back at 2:40 a.m. to find the barn fully engulfed in flames, completely destroying the structure.
The three Hillsborough-based fire companies, plus ones from Neshanic, Manville, Finderne, Middlebush, Montgomery, Green Brook, West Amwell, Readington, Three Bridges and Amwell Valley fought the blazes.
Also responding were Hillsborough Office of Emergency Management, township fire marshals, the rescue squad, as well as Somerset County fire coordinators.
