May 4 – At approximately 2:11 p.m., the Hillsborough Township Police Department responded to 6 Barbara Drive for the report of a chimney fire. Upon arrival the chimney was observed to be fully engulfed. Responding fire units extinguished the fire which was contained to the chimney and surrounding exterior siding. The fire is not considered to be suspicious but remains under investigation by the Hillsborough Township Police Department and the Hillsborough Township Bureau of Fire Safety. The home had minor damage and was deemed habitable by the Hillsborough Township Building Department. The following agencies responded: Hillsborough Township Police Department; Hillsborough Township Bureau of Fire Safety; Hillsborough Fire Units 36, 37, and 38; Hillsborough Township Building Department; Neshanic Fire Unit 48; Montgomery Fire Unit 45; Robert Wood Johnson Emergency Medical Services; PSE&G and Somerset County Office of Emergency Management (OEM).

May 2 – At 9:14 a.m., the Hillsborough Police Department responded to the QuickChek gas station at 273 Route 206 for a reported fuel spill. Approximately 26 gallons of diesel fuel leaked onto the ground because the nozzle of a pump was not properly inserted into a vehicle. Somerset County Hazmat and Hillsborough Township OEM responded and contained the spill to the concrete area on the property. The fuel did not enter storm water drains or seep into the ground. There were no reported injuries on scene. The following agencies responded to the scene: Hillsborough Police Department, Somerset County Hazmat Team, Hillsborough Township OEM, Hillsborough Fire Department Units: 36, 37 and 38 and Robert Wood Johnson EMS.

April 30 – Graffiti was found in multiple areas of Ann Van Middlesworth Park, 584 Pleasant View Road. Surveillance of the incident was obtained and the investigation is ongoing.

April 28 – A 39-year-old Trenton man was charged with DWI (driving while intocicated) while on a traffic stop on Route 206. He was processed and released.

April 24 – A 52-year-old Lawrenceville man was charged with DWI while on a traffic stop on Route 206. He was processed and released.

April 21 – A 46-year-old New Castle, Delaware man was charged with DWI while on a traffic stop on Amwell Road. He was processed and released.

April 20 – A 62-year-old Hillsborough woman was charged with DWI while on a traffic stop on Amwell Road. She was processed and released.

April 20 – A 50-year-old Belle Mead man was charged with DWI while on a traffic stop on Raider Boulevard. He was processed and released.

April 14 – A 50-year-old Woodbridge woman was charged with DWI while on a traffic stop on Farm Road. She was processed and released.

April 13 – Performance Sports Center, 6 Dickerson Road, reported graffiti on the rear of the building. There are no cameras on the outside of the building and the investigation is ongoing.

April 13 – A resident of Bloomingdale Drive reported seeing two individuals, one Hispanic male and one Hispanic female, attempting to open their front door and open a lock box on their porch. They stayed on the porch for approximately 10 to 15 minutes but never tried to force entry into the residence. The incident is under investigation.

April 12 – Two riders on a dirt bike fled from a township police officer attempting to stop them in the area of Johanson Avenue. The riders fled into a wooded area and were not located. The investigation is ongoing.

April 8 – A Shell Court resident reported a baby stroller valued at $2,100 was stolen from a storage area in a common hallway between March 29 and April 8. The investigation is ongoing.

April 9 – While parked on Bloomingdale Drive, a work truck belonging to Union Management Association of Keasbey, had multiple windows smashed. The damage was estimated at $500. The investigation is ongoing.

April 7 – A Hillsborough resident reported the license plate was stolen off his vehicle while parked at 626 Route 206. Surveillance footage showed a black SUV park next to the vehicle and two suspects remove the plates. The investigation is ongoing.

April 6 – A resident of Conover Drive reported a package containing an Apple Watch, valued at $350, was stolen from their front porch. The suspect appeared to be wearing a mask and FedEx vest. The investigation is ongoing.

April 5 – Officers responded to the Rita’s Italian Ice, 381 Route 206, for a former employee causing a disturbance. Once officers were on scene, the former employee, a 22-year-old Hillsborough man, fled on foot and was located on Southland Drive. He was charged with disorderly conduct, obstruction, trespassing, and theft. He was processed and released.

April 3 – A 45-year-old Flemington woman was charged with DWI while on a traffic stop on Route 206. She was processed and released.

April 2 – Five unlocked vehicles were entered on Wildflower Lane. The investigation found nothing was taken from the vehicles. **Residents are reminded to lock their vehicles at night and to not leave values in their vehicles.

April 2 – A resident on Wildflower Lane reported $2,500 in cash was taken from their unlocked Nissan. The investigation is ongoing.

April 1 – A 30-year-old Somerset man was charged with DWI while on a traffic stop on Mountainview Road. He was processed and released.

April 1 – A 47-year-old Hillsborough man was charged with DWI while on a motor vehicle crash investigation on River Road. He was processed and released.

April 1 – A 28-year-old Bound Brook man was charged with hindering while on a traffic stop on Camplain Road after providing an officer with a fake name. He was processed and released.

April 1 – A 42-year-old Manville man was charged with shoplifting a bottle of Don Perignon from Petrocks Liquors on March 28. He was processed and released.
