HILLSBOROUGH: College graduates celebrate their degrees

Ryan Goldschmidt, a 2012 graduate of Hillsborough High School, was awarded a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., on May 14.
Ryan served as an EMT on the Hillsborough Rescue Squad for four years. He will sit for his NCLEX-RN exam in June to become a registered nurse. He will start his nursing career at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital’s Surgical ICU in Washington, D.C., where he previously interned as a nurse technician. He worked as a nursing tutor in the university’s Center for Academic Success his entire college career.

Julianna McDonald, a graduate of Hillsborough High School in 2010, graduated from Rutgers University on Sunday, May 15. She has obtained a master’s degree of education in college student affairs. Julianna has accepted a job at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison as a career development counselor.
President Barack Obama spoke at the ceremony. The master’s/doctorate program also had a separate ceremony for graduates on Monday, May 16.
Julianna graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers in 2014.

Alexandra Warn, a 2012 graduate of Hillsborough High School, received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Roanoke (Va.) College on Saturday, May 7. She has applied for the accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at Rutgers School of Nursing.
