The Islamic Society of Central Jersey (ISCJ) is partnering with Muslims Against Hunger to feed the poor and hungry during Ramadan.
On July 4, observant fasting Muslims are planning to prepare 1,000 meals to be distributed by Hunger Van to the poor and homeless in and around New Jersey for the second consecutive year. Volunteers will meet from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the ISCJ, 4145 Route 1 south, Monmouth Junction.
Muslims Against Hunger is a volunteer-run, grassroots effort to mobilize and educate the Muslim community and the community-at-large about the problems of hunger, poverty and homelessness. The Soup Kitchen and 1 World Community Cafe projects are feeding hot lunches and dinners to the homeless, hungry and working poor in more than 20 cities with the help of more than 3,000 volunteers from various faiths.
